The Good Acre

1790 Larpenteur Ave W

Falcon Heights, MN 55113

https://thegoodacre.org/

The Good Acre was an idea that Pohlad family members turned into a reality. Their intention was to develop a multi-faceted initiative to improve the local food system for diverse, independent farmers and to increase access to healthy produce for all consumers regardless of income. In the fall of 2015 doors opened for learning, training and business.

The evening’s Tour Guide and Presenter will be Emily Paul, Director of Programs at the Good Acre.
At The Good Acre, Emily is responsible for building strategic partnerships, including the Maker to Market program with Lakewinds Food Coop; developing Culinary Training Programs for Farm to School clients, and promoting The Good Acre mission and work to the food community in the Twin Cities and beyond. Emily holds a BA in International Relations and minor in Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a culinary degree from L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD.

Our visit will focus on The Good Acre’s work as a nonprofit to advance the local sustainable food system through supporting new/minority/immigrant farmers and food makers in our community.

-A facility tour will showcase the operation’s capabilities.
- Emily will share details on the Good Acre culinary training for K-12 nutrition services and family consumer science, shared commercial kitchen program, and Maker to Market food business accelerator.

- We’ll get a glimpse at future projects and collaborations utilizing Good Acre facility and partnerships answering the needs of evolving local, sustainable food scene.
